Our Unique History
A front-row seat to radiology’s transformation—from film to digital
Evolve was founded with a deep understanding of the radiology environment and a commitment to improving the daily experience of radiologists through firsthand insight into their evolving needs. We became early adopters of PACS and quickly recognized a seismic shift in how radiologists work. As imaging transitioned from film to digital in the late 1990s, radiologists found themselves seated for long hours, facing heavy CRT monitors on makeshift desks. These conditions introduced new ergonomic risks and challenges.
Recognizing the risks of a digital shift—pioneering ergonomic radiology workspaces
Seeing what was ahead, we partnered with RedRick Technologies in 2002 to pioneer radiologists ergonomic workstations and radiology reading rooms designed specifically for the evolving demands of digital radiology; prioritizing comfort, productivity, and long-term well-being. Shortly after, we saw the need to expand our focus to include lighting, acoustics, and optimized workflow.

For over two decades, we’ve helped transform radiology reading rooms across North America, from large academic medical centers to community hospitals and outpatient clinics. Our hands-on approach ensures every ergonomic solution is tailored, from initial measurements and workflow planning to white-glove installation and personalized training. We work closely with radiologists, administrators, IT teams, and facilities staff to deliver workspaces that elevate both care and clinician experience.

Our proven process
Discovery
Our initial meeting will involve an intake that will help to identify unique IT requirements, space considerations, and ergonomic stressors. It will also include an ergonomic assessment of the current environment and provide input on body biomechanics and good ergonomic behavior. In this way, individuals can immediately start seeing improvements in their current environment.
Collaboration
We believe collaboration is essential to the success of every project, and we actively seek open dialogue with all who intend to interact with the workstations and environments we design. Their input allows us to balance competing needs, make informed design decisions, and accurately assess specific ergonomic and workflow challenges. We see ourselves as an extension of our customer's internal team, serving as an interim resource that brings ergonomic expertise, design insight, and hands-on support to every project.
Design
We develop space configuration plans and workstation designs with a clear understanding of what is needed both aesthetically and functionally. These early concepts evolve to help refine the overall vision for the project. We believe that an inclusive approach can make a meaningful, positive impact on how people experience and use an ergonomically designed workspace. From there, we move into the build phase, delivering environments that enhance well-being and support institutional productivity.
Implementation
Our implementation team delivers and assembles, in place, each element of your ergonomically designed environment. They also provide detailed coordination with your IT department so that monitors and computers, and cable management systems are effectively installed to present a clean and orderly workplace. It is at this stage that everything that has been considered and planned for is now implemented to create an elegant environment in which to work.
Education
Evolve considers education to be a vital component when designing any workspace, and believes it helps to ensure individuals accurately adopt good ergonomic behaviors. At every stage of engagement, we share our knowledge and actively teach each individual how to best use their new workstation to achieve all the benefits of an ergonomically designed workspace.
